“The Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, went to his son Ibrahim when he was dying, and his eyes began to overflow with tears, whereupon Abdur Rahman son of Auf said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, even you?’ The Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, said, ‘Ibn Auf this is only the tenderness of the heart.’ He wept again and said, ‘The eye sheds tears and the heart is sorrowful, but we say only that which may please our Lord. We are indeed sad, O Ibrahim, by your passing.’"

Bukhari with a chain up to Anas who related that the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, said this.
