“A man came to the Holy Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, and asked, ‘Who is the best of mankind?’ He answered. ‘A believer who fights with his person, and his wealth in the Way of Allah.’ The man asked, ‘And after him?’ He said, ‘A believer who worships Allah in the seclusion of a mountain valley and does not harm people.’"

Bukhari and Muslim with a chain up to Abu Sa'id Khudri who that the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, said this.
