“The Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, was displeased when he saw a donkey had been branded on its face. Ibn Abbas said, ‘I shall brand my donkey on the part of its body farthest from the face.’ So he ordered it to be branded on its hind quarters. He was the first to do this.”
