PUNISHMENT OF PORTRAITS
1728
“Whosoever relates he has a vision which he has not seen will be called upon on the Day of Judgement to tie a knot between two grains of barley.
Whosoever eavesdrops upon a people will have molten lead poured into his ears upon the Day of Judgement.
Whosoever paints a portrait of a person will be punished and will be called upon to breathe into it a soul which he will be incapable of doing.”
Bukhari and Muslim with a chain up to ibn Abbas who related that the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, said this.
