BE MODERATE IN PRAISING SOMEONE

1839

“A man was mentioned to the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, and someone praised him. The Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, said to the latter, ‘Woe to you, you have cut the throat of your Companion.’ He repeated this several times and then added, ‘If you must praise someone, you should say: I think so and so is such and such if you consider him to be so; because he is accountable to Allah and no one can be declared as good by other than Allah.'"

Bukhari and Muslim with chain up to Abu Bakr who related that the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, said this.
