“Someone asked Lady Ayesha, may Allah be pleased with her, for charity so she gave him a piece of bread. Later, someone better clothed asked her for charity and was invited to sit down and given food. When she was asked why she had treated them differently she replied: ‘The Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, directed us to treat people according to their status.’"
