“Ibn Mas'ud recalled seeing Prophet Muhammad, praise and peace be upon him, narrating an account of another Prophet of Allah, who, upon being beaten and wounded by his people wiped the blood away from his face and supplicated, ‘Allah forgive my people because they do not know.’"
