“The Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, forbade the Companions to wear silk or brocade, and to drink from gold or silver cups, and said, ‘These are for them (the unbelievers) in this world and for you in the Everlasting Life.’"

Bukhari and Muslim with a chain up to Huzaifah who related that the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, said this.
