“A man came to the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, tell me something that I can do in order to win the love of Allah and the love of people.’ He told him, ‘Do not desire the world, and Allah will love you; and do not desire that which other people have and they will love you.’”

Ibn-i-Majah - Abu Abbas Sahl, the son of Sa'ad Sa'idi, ibn-i-Majah as well as others related this hadith.
