“When the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, wore something new he called it by its name, for example, turban, shirt or cloak and would supplicate, ‘O Allah, Yours is the praise that You have given it to me to wear. I beg of You its good and the good of the purpose for which it has been made, and seek Your protection against its evil and the evil of the purpose for which it has been made.’"

Abu Daud and Tirmidhi with a chain up to Abu Sa'id Khudri who related the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, said this.
