“If a Muslim has an obligation towards his brother concerning his honor or something else, let him fulfill it today before a time comes when he has neither dinars nor dirhams. Because, if he does not do so, and he has acquired some good deeds, a proportion of those good deeds will be taken from him equal to his obligation. However, if he does not have any good deeds he will be burdened proportionately with the evil deeds of the person whom he wronged.”

Bukhari with a chain up to Abu Hurairah who related that the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, said this.
