“A Companion asked the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, on the Day of Uhud, ‘Tell me, where I shall be if I am killed in the battle today?’ He answered, ‘In Paradise.’ Then the man threw down the few dates he held in his hand, plunged into battle and fought on until he was martyred.”
