“While Gabriel was sitting with the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, there was a sound from above. Gabriel raised his head and said, ‘Today, a door of the worldly heaven has been opened for the first time.’

Then an angel descended from it and Gabriel said, ‘Today, this angel descended to the earth for the first time.’ He greeted the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, and said, ‘Receive the glad tidings that two lights have been bestowed upon you which have not been bestowed upon any Prophet before you. The first is Sura Al Fatihah (The Opener, Chapter 1) and the other is the last verses of Sura Al-Baqarah (The Cow :Chapter 2). Even if you recite just a word from them you will be recompensed.’"

Muslim with a chain up to ibn Abbas who related that the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, said this.
