1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
.1 بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Noah calls his nation to Allah and reminds them of His signs but they reject him and his message 71:1-20
71:1 We sent Noah to his nation, saying, 'Give warning to your nation before a painful punishment overtakes them.'
71.1 إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَى قَوْمِهِ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
71:2 He said, 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you.
71.2 قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
71:3 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me.
71.3 أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ
71:4 He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew.'
71.4 يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذَا جَاء لَا يُؤَخَّرُ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
71:5 'My Lord,' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation,
71.5 قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِي لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا
71:6 but my call has only increased them in running away.
71.6 فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَائِي إِلَّا فِرَارًا
71:7 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud.
71.7 وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوا أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًا
71:8 I called to them clearly,
71.8 ثُمَّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا
71:9 and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret,
71.9 ثُمَّ إِنِّي أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا
The benefits asking for the forgiveness of your Lord 71:10-20
71:10 "Ask for the forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver.
71.10 فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
71:11 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance
71.11 يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاء عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا
71:12 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers.
71.12 وَيُمْدِدْكُمْ بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَارًا
71:13 What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah,
71.13 مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا
71:14 He has created you by stages!
71.14 وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا
71:15 Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other,
71.15 أَلَمْ تَرَوْا كَيْفَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا
71:16 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern?
71.16 وَجَعَلَ الْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا
71:17 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth,
71.17 وَاللَّهُ أَنبَتَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا
71:18 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth.
71.18 ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا
71:19 Allah has made the earth spread out for you
71.19 وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا
71:20 so that you walk in its spacious paths."'
71.20 لِتَسْلُكُوا مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا
