ASY SYAMS 91 The Sun - Ash-Shams

1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

.1 بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

The signs of the greatness of Allah surround us yet most of mankind, like the people of Thamood, reject Him on account of pride, giving preference to their own created ability rather than the ultimate power and ability of their Creator 91:1- 10

91:1 By the sun and its midmorning,

91.1 وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا

91:2 by the moon, which follows it,

91.2 وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَاهَا

91:3 by the day, when it displays it,

91.3 وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّاهَا

91:4 by the night, when it envelops it!

91.4 وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا

91:5 By the heaven and Who built it,

91.5 وَالسَّمَاء وَمَا بَنَاهَا

91:6 by the earth and Who spread it,

91.6 وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَاهَا

91:7 by the soul and Who shaped it

91.7 وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا

91:8 and inspired it with its sin and its piety,

91.8 فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا

91:9 prosperous is he who purified it,

91.9 قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّاهَا

91:10 and failed is he who buried it!

91.10 وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّاهَا
