AL HUMAZAH 104 The Backbiter - Al-Humazah
1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
.1 بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
The punishment for backbiting and slandering 104:1-9
104:1 Woe to every backbiter, slanderer
104.1 وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ
104:2 who amasses wealth and counts it,
104.2 الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ
104:3 thinking his wealth will render him immortal!
104.3 يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ
104:4 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher.
104.4 كَلَّا لَيُنبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ
104:5 What shall let you know what the Crusher is?
104.5 وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ
104:6 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah,
104.6 نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ
104:7 which shall oversee the hearts,
104.7 الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ
104:8 closed around them
104.8 إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ
104:9 in extended columns.
104.9 فِي عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍ
