Sometime later a band of passing robbers heard the braying of the donkeys
and the sounds of the other animals that belonged to the rest of the tribe so
they decided to attack and steal their valuables. One by one the tents were
set upon and the people inside were all killed. The only ones to survive were
the kindly, trusting old Bedouin and his wife.
When the kindly old Bedouin saw what had happened he turned to his wife
and said, "You see, there was good in the loss of our animals. If the wolf had
not killed them, then their sounds would have attracted the attention of the
robbers and they would have found us!"
