When news reached the Khybarites that the Prophet, praise and peace be
upon him, and the Koraysh had signed a ten year peace treaty between
them, the Jews were devastated for they knew the Koraysh would no
longer pursue or assist them in their goal to bring about the Prophet's
downfall.
