In this book it is our intention, Allah willing, to study the
terminology of Prophetic Quotations (Hadith), this is not an
easy task as the majority of references are in Arabic.
3 Towards the Understanding of Hadith Terminology
We would like to begin this book by giving you examples of the
authenticity of Prophetic Quotations (Hadith).
It should be clearly noted that the number of Hadith is counted

on the basis of the chain of transmissions and not on the
basis of the text. It is essential to make this point clear
right at the beginning as there is considerable ignorance
