In the case of spurious traditions, the Masters of Hadith recorded
the following:
Whether it was invented by the narrator. Whether it was borrowed
from other people. Whether it was based upon another doubtful
Hadith. Whether it was due to the narrator‟s skepticism.
Whether it was due to ignorance on the part of a pious devotee.
Whether it was due to religious bigotry. Whether it was
