is the bringer of bad news!” Abu Sufyan retorted, “Shame on you people, do not let this
woman mislead you because the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, is
indeed approaching with an army you have not power to restrain. Whosoever enters my
house will be safe.” The people shouted out, “Shame on you, your house can never
accommodate all of us!” Abu Sufyan then told them, “Whosoever locks the door of his
house will be safe as will whosoever enters the Sacred Mosque.” The people dispersed
and went either to their homes or to the Sacred Mosque.

THE ENTRANCE OF THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH INTO
MECCA, praise and peace be upon him
The son of Asakir narrated from Waqidi a report similar to that of Abdullah, son of
Abbas. As did Tabrani and also mentions that when Abu Sufyan left (the presence of the
Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him), the Messenger of Allah, praise and
peace be upon him, told Abbas, “Take him to the point where the valley narrows, where
the mountain protrudes so that he may witness the armies of Allah passing by.” Abbas
