Upon Ikrima‟s and his wife‟s return to Mecca, Ikrima tried several times to cohabit with
his wife but she refused saying, “You are an unbeliever, whereas I am a Muslim.” Ikrima
remarked, “That which prevents you from me must be something very great.”

Upon seeing Ikrima, the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, hastened
out of happiness towards him and did not have time to put on his upper shawl. The
