Lady Sawdah was the first lady to marry the Prophet, (salla Allahu alihi was sallam) after the death of Lady Khadijah. His marriage to her was contracted in Shawwal two years before the migration but it was not consummated until several years later. On Tuesday, Ramadan 17th, 58H she passed away at the age of sixty-six and Abu Hurayah led the funeral prayer. Lady Umm Habibah, daughter of Abu Sufyan Lady Umm Habibah's given name was Ramla. She embraced Islam in the early years of Islam. When she was in Abysinnia she saw a vision in which she was addressed as "Mother of Believers" and was not surprised when a messenger arrived from Medina with the marriage proposal from the Prophet, (salla Allahu alihi wa sallam). A proxy marriage was performed by the Negus of Abysinnia and upon her return to Medina a formal marriage celebration took place. She was 36 years of age at the time of their marriage in 7H and died in 44H. Lady Safiya, the daughter of Huyay Lady Safiya was born of Jewish parentage and embraced Islam at Khaybar. She was a descendant of Prophet Aaron. Her original name was Zaynab but better known as Safiya. She was from the tribe of An-Nadir. Before the Prophet's arrival at Khaybar she had a vision in which she saw the moon suspended over a city, which she knew to be Medina. In her vision she saw the moon drift towards Khaybar and when it reached the city it had come to rest in her lap. Innocently, Safiya told her husband Kinanah, the son of Abi Al-Huqaiq of her vision whereupon, in an uncontrollable burst of anger, he struck her violently upon her face saying, "This can mean but one thing, you desire Muhammad the King of Hijaz!" When Lady Safiya was brought before the Prophet (salla Allahu alihi wa sallam) he noticed her badly bruised eye and asked her about it whereupon she told him of her vision and how after she had related it to her husband he had struck her. As part of the terms of surrender it was agreed that the Jews would hand over all their wealth to the Muslims in exchange for their life. However, Kinanah and some other Jews thought they had the upper hand and concealed not only their wealth but also known treasures. They were so sure of themselves that they said if any were found they would forfeit their lives and their womenfolk were to be taken as captives. The wealth was discovered and Kinanah and those like him were put to death and the wealth confiscated and Safiya was taken captive. The Prophet (salla Allahu alihi wa sallam) did not put them to death himself, rather they were handed over to relatives of slain family members who put them to death. And Allah protects you from the people.” 5:67 the Prophet (salla Allahu alihi wa sallam) released his guards. Those whose Likeness Resembled the Prophet Jafar, son of Abu Talib Hasan, son of Ali Quthan, son of Al-Abbas Abu Sufyan, son of Abid Muslim, son of Muattib Kabis, son of Rabia who was from Iraq from the children of Sama. Such was his likeness that when Anas, son of Malik saw him he would cry, and Muawiya would give him gifts and kiss him between his eye because of his likeness. The Honoring of Allah to His Prophet “We did not send a Messenger except that he should be obeyed, by the permission of Allah. If, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you and asked Allah for forgiveness and the Messenger had asked for forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah, the Turner, the Most Merciful. But no, by your Lord, they will not believe you until they make you the judge regarding the disagreement between them, then, they will not find in themselves any discomfort concerning your verdict, and will surrender to you in full submission.” Koran 4.64-65 “Allah, and His angels praise and venerate the Prophet. Believers praise and venerate him and pronounce peace upon him in abundance.” Koran 33.56 All those blessed to see Prophet Muhammad, (salla Allahu alihi wa sallam) could only describe his noble, blessed features by saying, "I have neither seen anyone like the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alihi wa sallam) before nor after him." Therefore, it is impossible for us in this day and age to comprehend the magnitude of his beauty, either physically or inwardly. Imam Al Busairi wrote in his poem “The Cloak” (this poem is inscribed upon the walls of the Prophet's Rawdah): Understanding his meaning rendered the creation incapable. so it was not understood by those near and far, just as the sun is seen by the eyes from afar, it is small yet it weakens the eye when closed. How can his reality be comprehended in this world? A sleeping nation amuses themselves with dreams instead of him, so the ultimate conclusion of our knowledge concerning him, is that he is a human. And indeed, he is the best of all the creation of Allah and every miracle brought by other honorable messengers is connected to them from his light. Indeed, he is the sun of virtue in which they (the prophets), are its planets, that only display their light to people in the dark. How noble is the creation of the Prophet, adorned with such an excellent character, who was vested with beauty and distinguished by glad tidings. He is like a blooming flower in its freshness, and the splendor of the full moon, and the ocean in generosity, and the power of the determination of time, even when alone, it appears because of his grandeur, as though he is in the midst of a large army and its retinue. It is like a pearl well preserved in an oyster, from the two mines, of his speech and smiles. No perfume equals the dust that touches his body. Glad tidings be to he who inhales him and kisses him! It is more than apparent that by attempting to mirror the ways of Prophet Muhammad (salla Allahu alihi wa sallam) there are tremendous blessings with happiness and a rich reward not only in this life but in the Everlasting Life. Concluding Supplication O Allah, we have believed in him, without seeing him, so let us enjoy, O Allah, a vision of him in the two realms and keep our hearts always in love with him. Ameen.
