The last to emerge from the fire are two men. Allah Almighty says to one of them: O son of Adam, what have you prepared for this day? Have you ever done well? Did you beg me? He says: No, Lord, so he is commanded to go to the Fire, for he is the most despondent of the people of Hell, and he says to the other: O son of Adam, what have you prepared for this day? Have you ever done good and begged me? He says: No, O Lord, but that I was pleading with You. A tree is raised for him, and he says: O Lord, set me under this tree, so that I can shade in its shade, and I will eat of its fruit and drink from its water. From the first, and the most abundant water, then he says: O Lord, grant me shelter under it, and I will not ask of You other than it (so I will take shade in its shade). Then he brings him close to her and promises him that he will not ask him for anything else, so he hears the voices of the people of Paradise and does not hold back and says: O Lord, he has admitted me to Paradise, so Allah Almighty says: Ask and wish. You have what I asked, and the like of it is with him. Abu Huraira said: And ten like it.
