[Abdulloh bin Umar said:] Umar - may Allah be pleased with him - kissed the Black Stone then said: By Allah, I really know that you are a stone, if you had not seen the Messenger of Allah kissing you then I would not have kissed you.

[Al-Imam Ali said:] If religion were (can be digested only) with reason then the bottom of the khuf / shoe is better to be rubbed than the top. Indeed, I - Peace and blessing be upon him - the Messenger of Allah - Peace and blessing be upon him - wiping the upper part of the khuf.

(Ali bin Abi Talib) It was narrated that Uthman bin 'Affan forbade Hajj tamattu', so Ali said: What do you want from a thing that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) did and then you want to prevent it?
