[When dry animal dung was brought he said:] This is unclean.

(Salman Al Farisi) reported that the Prophet - Peace and blessing be upon him - had taught his companions everything to how to defecate. He forbade us to face the Qiblah when urinating or defecating, or istinja' / wipe with the right hand or istinja' with less than three stones, or istinja' with dirt or bones.

There has come to me preachers from among the jinn so I went with them and recited the Qur'an to them (they then asked about provisions, he said:) for you every bone on which the name of Allah is mentioned it will become in your hands a lot of meat and every donkey dung is fodder for your mounts. So do not [O humans] have sex with them [bones and animal dung] for they are food for your brothers [from among the jinn].

(Abdulloh bin Mas'ud) reported that a group of jinn had come to the Messenger of Allah - Peace and blessing be upon him - then said to him: Forbid your people from resting with bones, animal dung or coal, because Allah has made sustenance for these objects for us. So he forbade it.
