(Anas) he reported that Abubakar - may Allah be pleased with him - wrote him this letter when sending him to Bahrain:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. This is an obligation of zakat which is obligatory by the Messenger of Allah - Peace and blessing be upon him - on Muslims and which Allah has commanded His Messenger (PBUH) to do, so whoever is asked for this obligation according to his method, he should give it and whoever is asked for it, let him not give it: in the tail of a camel or Under it the zakat is from goats, every five camels the zakat is one goat, if it reaches a camel to a tail then the obligation is a Bintu Makhoodh (a female camel aged one year), if it reaches a tail then the obligation is a Bintu Labuun (a female camel aged two years) If it reaches the tail of a camel then the obligation is a Hiqqah (three year old female camel) that is worthy of being collected, if it reaches the tail then the obligation is a Jadza'ah (four year old female camel), if it arrives then the obligation is two Bintu Labuun, if it reaches the tail then the obligation is two Hiqqoh that deserve to be collected, if it is more than a tail then it is loyal each has a duty for one Bintu Labuun and each one has a Hiqqoh (for example, + + so that the obligations are two Hiqqoh and one Bintu Labuun). Whoever has only four camels, it is not obligatory for him to pay zakat unless the owner wants it. If it has reached the tail then it is obligatory for him a goat. Whoever arrives at the obligation of zakat on Jadza'ah and then he does not have Jadza'ah, but he has Hiqqah, then Hiqqah is accepted from him and added with him two goats if there is or twenty dirhams. Whoever arrives at the obligation of Hiqqah and he does not have Hiqqah but he has Jadza'ah then Jadza'ah is accepted from him but the zakat collector gives him twenty dirhams or two goats. Whoever comes to him the obligation of Hiqqah but there is nothing to him except Bintu Labuun, then Bintu Labuun is accepted from him and he gives with it two goats or twenty dirhams. Whoever gets to him the obligation of Bintu Labuun while he has Hiqqoh, then Hiqqah is accepted from him and the zakat collector gives him twenty dirhams or two goats. Whoever reaches his obligation to Bintu Labuun but he does not have it, what is in his possession is Bintu Mukhoodh, then it is accepted from him and he gives with him twenty dirhams or two goats. Whoever comes to Bintu Mukhoodh's obligation and does not have him, only Bintu Labuun will receive from him Bintu Labuun and the zakat collector twenty dirhams or two
