I asked my Lord, the Majestic, for three qualities for my nation, and He gave me two, and prevented me from taking it. I said: O Lord, do not perish my nation by starvation. He said: This I said: O Lord, do not let an enemy from other than them - meaning the people of polytheism - overpower them, and he will invade them. He said: You have that. I told you, O Lord, do not make their shares between them, so this prevented me.

I asked my Lord, glory be to Him, and He promised me that seventy thousand of my nation would enter in the form of the moon on the night of the full moon. He said: Then eat them for you from the Bedouins.

I said: O Lord, there were messengers before me, among them were those who gave life to the dead, and some of them were subjected to the wind. He said: Did I not find you an orphan and sheltered you? I said: Yes, Lord. He said: Did I not find you lost and I guided you? I said: Yes, Lord. He said: Did I not find you a breadwinner, so I sang you? I said: Yes, Lord. He said: Did I not explain your chest to you? Did I not put your burden on you, who broke your back? Didn't I mention you? I said: Yes, Lord, I wish I had not asked him.

Moses asked his Lord, glory be to Him, when He gave him the Torah, to teach him a supplication with which to supplicate, so He commanded him to supplicate to there is no god but Allah.
