As they turned away he warned just once more

but the only ones to follow him were the sincere and the poor.

Those who believed faced threats harsh and unkind
but their hearts were certain, no doubt in their mind.

Matters soon went from bad to worse

so Allah sent quakes to shatter the earth.

The Day of Shadow soon upon them fell
showering them with fire - a preparation for Hell.

For seven days fire rained down, their was no escape
and the earth shook in terror – a violent earthquake.

The unbelievers had been invited but turned away
instead they preferred their old wicked ways.

So that was the fate that befell the people of Midian city
Shu'aib had warned them well, but now felt no pity.

OMAR'S DAY AT THE ZOO

Omar and his brother, who was only two
went with their mother to a nearby zoo.
They saw a lion with great big teeth

and a kangaroo with very large flat feet.

Omar rolled his tongue around his teeth
then looked down at his own two feet

and said "Oh mum, I glad my teeth aren’t like that
and my feet aren’t large and very flat.

Omar's mother said, "Oh, darling don't you see
Allah created everything with different needs

a lion needs sharp teeth, he does not have hands
and a kangaroo needs large feet to hop over the land.

Look at the birds, they are small but yet

they can fly through the air like an airplane jet.

They can't walk and run just like you

so Allah gave them wings and off they flew."

Omar nodded his head, paused then said,

"I didn't think of it like that, but I'm glad you did."

"My darling young man the creation of Allah is so very great
just look around." - "Oh mum, I just can't wait"

"I can't wait to see what else there is

and I will remember Allah created all of this"

And Omar, ran off to watch the seals

as their keeper threw fish for them, a very fine meal!
