They are the best to know of their circumstances and the conditions prevailing in
their time in the way of lawful gain and the character of women, and what is
expected of the husband and the requirements for marriage. Whatever the
situation was marriage would have been better in some cases and renouncing it
better in others. We are obliged to look at the acts of the Prophets without
criticism under all circumstances.

Concerning What is to be Observed at the Time of a Marriage Contract
