should not criticize the food, The Prophet never found fault with food. If he was
pleased with it, he ate it, if he dislike it, he neglected it; if he discarded it, he did
not render it hateful to another person. He disliked the lizard and the spleen but
did not declare them forbidden. One should never turn a dish around so as to
access the food on the other side, nor stretch your arm so to reach the food in
the middle. The bread should be eaten from the outside edge inwards, not
broken in two to reach the middle first. When the outside is finished then the
middle can be broken and eaten. Bread should not be cut by a knife. Nor should
the cooked meat be cut by a knife. The Prophet, praise and peace be upon him,
forbade the cutting of meat and bread by knives and said: “Bit it with your teeth.‟
