In reply to those who through philosophy have corrupted their faith to the extent of denying
prophecy in
principle, we have discussed the reality of prophecy and how it exists of necessity, by showing
that there
exists a knowledge of the properties of medicines, stars, and so forth. We introduced this
preliminary study
precisely for this purpose; we based the demonstration on medical and astronomical properties
precisely
because these are included in the science of the Philosophers. To every one who is expert in some
branch
