KHALID, SON OF SA’EED PREACHER TO THE PEOPLE OF
YEMEN
Khalid, son of Sa’eed narrates that when the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be
upon him, dispatched him to Yemen, he said to him, “If you hear the Call to Prayer being
called among any nation you come across, leave them alone. But if you come across a
nation and do not hear the Call to Prayer, you should invite them to Islam.”
THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH’S FREEING OF CAPTIVES
WHO HAD NOT BEEN INVITED TO ISLAM
Ubay son of Ka’b narrates that when some captives from vicinity of the temples
dedicated to al Lat and al Uzza were brought before the Messenger of Allah, praise and
peace be upon him, he asked (his Companions who had taken them captive) “Did you
invite them to Islam?” If they replied that they had not, he turned to the captives and
asked them if they had been invited to accept Islam. When they confirmed that no one
had told them about Islam, the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him,
