Abu Sufyan was a proud man and his reputation mattered greatly to him. He was heard
to say in the years to come, "By Allah, if it were not for the fact I would have

ashamed that my companions would label me as a liar, I would not have told the truth."
In the years that followed after Abu Sufyan‟ conversion, his son became the first Muslim
Governor of Syria.
