In the meantime, the Koraysh marched out of Mecca on the western route, and were
now within five miles from Medina, and halted at Al Abwa, the place were the Prophet‟s
mother is buried. Hind, wife of Abu Sufyan called upon the hierarchy of the Koraysh to
ravage the tomb of the Prophet‟s mother Lady Aminah. Even though the Koraysh‟s
hatred of the Prophet (salla Allahu alihi wa sallam) was great, they thought that such an
act would be a despicable thing to do. They knew the tribes of Arabia would be repulsed
by their action, the stain of which would never be wiped out and it was a door they did
not want to open.
