“Malik and a group of other young men of similar age went to stay
with the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, for twenty days.
The Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, was the most kind and
considerate person. He thought they might be eager to return to
their people and inquired about those they had left behind, so they
told him. After that he said, „Now return to your people, stay with
them, instruct them, and ask them to keep it, and to pray at their
appointed times. When the time for prayer arrives one of you should
call the Adhan (the call to prayer) and the eldest amongst you
should lead the prayer.‟"

Bukhari and Muslim with a chain up to Malik, the son of Huyairis who related this.
