“Allah created one hundred parts of mercy on the Day He created
the heavens and the earth; each part is equal to the space between
heaven and earth. Of them, He placed one part on the earth. It is
through this a mother has mercy for her children, animals and birds
have mercy for one another. On the Day of Judgment He will perfect
and complete His Mercy.”
Bukhari and Muslim with a chain up to Abu Hurairah who related that he heard the
Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, say this

“A worshiper of Allah committed a sin and then supplicated, „Allah,
forgive me my sin.‟ Allah, the Blessed and High, said, „My worshiper
has committed a sin and then realized he has a Lord who forgives
sin and also takes to account for it.‟ After that the worshiper reverted
to it and sinned again and supplicated, „Lord, forgive me my sin.‟
