“Someone asked the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, „Who
is the best man?‟ He answered: „A believer who strives in the Cause
of Allah with his self and his property.‟ The man asked, „And after
him?‟ He replied, „One who withdraws into a narrow valley and
worships his Lord.‟"
He added:
„”One who is mindful of one's duty to Allah and safeguards people
against his own mischief.”
Bukhari and Muslim with a chain up to Abu Sa'id Khudri who related that the
Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, was asked this.
SAFEGUARDING ONE'S FAITH
