“When you see a vision that you like, it is from Allah. You should
praise Allah for it and tell of it. You should not speak of it except to
those you like. When you see a dream you do not like, it is from
satan. You should seek the protection of Allah against it and should
not mention it to anyone. Then it will not cause you any harm.”
Bukhari and Muslim with a chain up to Abu Sa'id Khudri who related that he heard
the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, say this.

A DREAM FROM SATAN, THE STONED AND CURSED

“The good vision is from Allah and dreams are from satan.
Whosoever sees something he dislikes should spit (without saliva)
three times to the left and seek the protection of Allah against satan,
praise Allah for it and tell of it. You should not speak of it except to
those you like. When you see a dream you do not like, it is from
satan. You should seek the protection of Allah against it and should
not mention it to anyone. Then it will not cause you any harm.”
