Upon seeing Sa'ad, the Prophet, praise and peace be upon him,
began to weep and his Companions also wept. He told them,
„Listen, Allah does not punish the shedding of tears or the grief of
the heart, but He punishes or forgives the utterances of this‟ and he
pointed to his tongue.”
Bukhari and Muslim with a chain up to ibn Omar who related that the Messenger of
Allah, praise and peace be upon him, said this.
DO NOT WEEP LOUDLY OVER THE DECEASED

“A corpse is punished in its grave on account of the sobbing over it.”
