Abdul Hasan Shazili,
Hizb of Imam an-Nawawi, Hizb of Mulla Ali al Qaari, Hizb ud Dauril A‟laa of
Shaykh ul Akbar Muhyuddin ibn al Arabi, Hizb of Ustadh al Bayyumi, Assalaat
ul Mashishiyya of Imam Abdu Salaam ibn Mashish, and Qasida Al Munfarija,
among other additional voluntary supplications to Allah. Can Qasidatul Burda
of Imam al Buseeri Rahmatullahi „alaih (more accurately called Qasidatul
Bor'a meaning "cure", as the poem of Ka'b, the Companion is the original
Burda) ever be left out! Such works naturally bring the book to a resounding
finale.
The Grand Muhaddith of Morocco, the late Sidi Abdullah Ben Seddek – who
was the teacher of this translator – said that after the Koran, this book was the
most read book in the Muslim world. He narrated an incident in which a
French spy was sent to Algeria to get a copy of the Koran. He found so many
people reading Dalaail ul Khayrat that he assumed it to be the Koran and took
it back to France where it was translated!
Unfortunately, last century a misguided cult, often called Wahabi or *Salafi,
arose from the Najd area in Saudi Arabia. This cult denounces the abundant
praise and veneration of the Prophet, claiming it to be an innovation and
subsequently denounces this great work. Their flawed doctrine deliberately
overlooks and attempts to negate the direct statement of Allah in the Koran
that says: “Allah, and His angels praise and venerate the Prophet. O who
believe, praise and venerate him and pronounce peace upon him in
abundance.” Chapter 33:56. One of the translators of this work, (Ahmad
Darwish Alshaykh) has the full explanation of this great work in Arabic which
is supported by proofs from the Koran together with authentic prophetic
quotations evidenced in the work of Al Fasi. It is among his dearest wishes to
translate this work and guide those who have been misled by the ignorance of
the Wahabi/Salafi cult back to the Straight Path.
*The Wahabi's often call them "Salafi". This word is a term applicable to the
first three generations of Muslims of whom the Prophet, praise and peace be
upon him, referred to as being the best generations of this nation, and as such
the name is relevant only to them, and therefore not applicable to any other
generation. The Wahabi cult emerged 700 years after the Prophet, praise and
peace be upon him, and usurped this titled by calling themselves "Salafi". The
rightful Salafi of the first three generations were well known for the magnitude
of their zikr (remembrance of Allah) and also for praising the Prophet, praise
and peace be upon him, of which the Wahabi cult shun and condemningly
refer to as being an "innovation" - bidda.
“And if you see your ego controlling you,
and it comes to lead you into the Fire of Desires,
banish its desires by continuous blessing.
