“I (Fatima the daughter of Kais) went to the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, and said to him, ‘Abu Jahm and Mu'awiah have proposed marriage to me.’ The Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, said, ‘Mu'awiah, is poor and has no property, as for Abu Jahm, he always keeps his stick on his shoulder.’"

“Abu Jahm is given to beating women; and it has also been said that he spent most of his time traveling.”
