“Refrain from sitting about in the streets.” A Companion said to him, ‘O Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, we have no alternative, there is no other place where we can sit and discuss matters.’ He replied: ‘In that case fulfill the obligations to the street.’ He was asked, ‘What is due to the street?’ He replied, ‘Restrain your glances, remove obstructions, reciprocate greetings, enjoin good and forbid evil.’"
