the manners of the Arabs, even during the Age of Ignorance! How noble they are. It is
because of this they protect each other in the life of this world.‟”
In the years to come, the Messenger of Allah, praise and peace be upon him, told his
Companions, “Praise be to Allah, today the tribe of the Banu Rabee‟ah (amongst whom
were the tribe of Banu Shayban) have defeated the Persians. They have slain the
Persian leaders and annihilated their armies. Allah assisted them because of me.:”
In another narration more details are given that tell us when the soldiers of the Banu
Rabee‟ah tribe engaged the Persian army at Quraqir, not far from the River Euphrates,
they used the name Muhammad as their password, because of which Allah gave them
victory. If was after this battle that the Banu Rabee‟ah tribe entered the fold of Islam.
