Abu Hurayrah narrates In part of a lengthy Hadith that the Messenger of Allah, praise
and peace be upon him, went to the Ka‟bah and as he held on to its doorframe, asked,
“What do you people have to say, what are you expecting?” The crowd replied thrice,
"We say you are our nephew and a most lenient and merciful son of our uncle.” You will
treat us as a kind kinsman or as a merciful brother would." The Messenger of Allah,
praise and peace be upon him, said, “I will say as Joseph said, “Let no reproach be on
you this day, Allah will forgive you He is the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
Abu Hurayah continues saying, the people dispersed, just as if they had been revived
from their tombs and embraced Islam

Saifur Rahman al-Mubarakpuri narrates in his reference Ar-Raheeq Al Makhtum that Az-
Zubair was instructed to erect the banner and wait for the Messenger of Allah, praise
