The people who are most entitled to become priests are those who can better read the book of Allah, and if they are the same in reading, then those who understand the lifestyle of the Prophet best, then if they are the same in terms of the lifestyle of the Prophet then the one who emigrates first, then if they are the same in the hijrah then the oldest among them, and let no one be led in the realm of his power nor should he occupy a noble place in his house except with his permission.

There are three people whose prayers do not pass through their ears (i.e. they are not accepted): a slave who runs away until he returns, a woman who spends the night while her husband is angry with her, and the priest of a people whom they hate.
