Whoever fasts every month for three days then it is fasting throughout the year. Allah says: "Whoever does one good deed will be for him ten times like that good deed." So one day is equal to ten days.

(Abu Huroiroh) he said: the Messenger of Allah - Peace and blessing be upon him - has promised me, - my beloved has instructed me - three things: I do not sleep except after performing the witr prayer, fasting three days every month, and praying dhuha.
