From Al Bara' radiallahu 'anhu that there are some people who have died facing the direction of the first Qiblah who we do not know what to say about the ruling for them. So Allah sent down the verse; "And Allah will not waste your faith, verily, Allah is most merciful, most merciful to people." (Al Baqarah: ).

From Al Bara` bin 'Azib he said; "When the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam came to Medina, he had time to pray facing the Baitul Maqdis for six or seventeen months. While the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam liked if he faced the Ka'bah, then Allah sent down the verse: (Indeed We (often) see your face looking up to the sky, then indeed We will turn you to the Qibla that you like. Turn your face towards the Grand Mosque. So he faced the Qibla, and he liked that." Then there was someone praying Asr with him. After that he passed some people from the Ansar who were bowing in the Asr prayer facing the direction of Baitul Maqdis, so he also said - while testifying - that he had prayed with the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, and he was facing the Kaaba." Al Bara` said; "So the people turned towards the Kaaba in a state of bowing."

That the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam used to pray facing the Baitul Maqdis, then the verse came down, 'We have indeed seen your face looking up to the sky, so we really turn your face to the Qibla that you are pleased with, so turn your face towards the Masjid al-Haram.' (Surah Albaqarah), Then a man from Bani Salimah walked while they were bowing in the morning prayer, and they had prayed one raka'at, then he called, 'Know that the Qibla has been changed, so they turn away. as they face the Qiblah'.

From 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said, "While the people were praying at dawn in Quba', suddenly a man came and said, "Indeed, last night a verse was revealed to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, he was ordered to face direction of the Kaaba. So the people who were praying turned to face the Ka'bah, even though at that time their faces were facing the land of Sham. They then turned towards the Kaaba."

Allah - All Exaltation for Him - says: "I am in the prejudice of My servant, and I am always with him when he remembers Me, if he remembers Me in himself, I remember it in Myself, and if he remembers Me in association, I remember him in a better company than them, if he draws near to Me an inch, then I draw near to him a cubit, and if he draws near to Me a cubit, I draw near to him an armchair, if he comes to Me walking, So I came to him running."
