Prophet Muhammad, praise and peace be upon him, taught his Companions
not to call those in their service, slaves. He told them that they should be
referred to as "youths" rather than the degrading word "slave". He also taught
them that they should be kind to them and that they should eat the same kind
of food as themselves and dressed not lesser than themselves.
