family and over time the youths were able to see the teachings and
experience the justice of Islam and many became Muslims and were freed.

The Prophet, praise and peace be upon him, was given many youths, but
when they were offered their freedom to leave many choose to remain in his
household so they might serve and be close to him.

This short story is about a very pious man who lived during the early days of
Islam.

There was once a poor, very pious man who had just one sheep and sold its
milk to pay for food. One day when he went to milk the sheep he noticed one
of its legs was broken and asked his youth, "Do you know who did this?" Now
the youth was not a good person and replied, "I did it. I did it on purpose just
to make you sad!"

The man remembered well the warnings of our beloved Prophet, praise and
peace be upon him. He knew that satan was always on the look-out to trick us
into doing something evil and had warned his Companions not to get angry,
